easter/passover

CPW 2025 falls during the last few nights of Passover and over Easter. We have collaborated with the MIT chaplains to ensure that visiting students are able to celebrate the holidays while on campus. Contact us at cpw@mit.edu, if you have questions about how you can observe these holidays.

When to arrive

Most students arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday, although students can arrive whenever it is most convenient for them. Check-in opens at 9 AM on Thursday, April 17, in the Student Center, building W20, right on Mass Ave and is open until midnight.

Free shuttle bus service to MIT runs on Thursday from 8 AM–9 PM from Logan Airport. The shuttle bus will leave from the lower level of Terminal C—just look for the smiling people wearing CPW t-shirts! Students taking a train or a bus, outside of Logan Airport, will need to find their own way to campus.

When to depart

CPW programming officially ends at noon on Sunday. We will have a shuttle bus service to take you to Logan Airport on Sunday, April 20 from 7 AM–12PM. Students taking a train or a bus, outside of Logan Airport, will need to find their own way to their destination.

What to pack

One carry-on bag. Travel light. A carry-on suitcase with a backpack is a reasonable load.

Clothing. Cambridge weather is notoriously unpredictable. You’ll be out exploring both during the day and at night, so bring a jacket, preferably with a hood. Rain boots or some other waterproof shoes would be helpful. Lastly, you’ll be moving a lot, so bring your most comfortable and least fancy clothing and shoes.

Towels and other toiletries. Pretty self-explanatory. You’ll need to take a shower and stuff at some point. Right??

Sleeping stuff. This is something that you should discuss with your host. Do you need a sleeping bag? A pillow? A blanket? Is the room going to be steamy or chilly? Either way, you should be prepared to pack a sleeping bag and pillow.

WHERE you will stay

All admitted students stay with a current undergraduate student in one of our residence halls or FSILGs (Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living Groups). We will match you with a student host closer to CPW. Stay tuned for more information!

what you will eat

There is ample food served at events so you won’t go hungry! And you’ll often see students cooking in their residences.

In addition, every student will automatically have access to two meals per day at any of the dining halls, as well as $20.29 in TechCash that can be used at any of our on-campus food vendors or dining halls.

under 18:CAMPUS ACCESS

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian will need to fill out your Medical Release Form and the Consent and Liability Waiver on your portal before you can attend CPW. If you do not submit both forms, you will not be able to participate in CPW, even if you are already at check in–so make sure you take care of this!

wellbeing check

A COVID test is not required to attend CPW, but if you are experiencing any symptoms, take a test before arriving to campus to ensure the wellbeing of yourself and the MIT community.

CAMPUS ACCESS:Tim tickets

Tim Ticket invitations will be sent via email in early April. We'll provide more details in your CPW portal in April. So, please don't ask us about it yet. It will be okay—we promise!

‍Tim Tickets, available through the MIT Atlas mobile app, give attendees Tap Access to campus buildings after hours and designated spaces like residence halls. Your Tim Ticket is your digital ID for your time at MIT.

It provides two meal swipes per day at any dining hall during CPW, and will have $20.29 in TechCash, to be used at any MIT food vendor. In the event your phone does not work with tap access, you may print a physical MIT ID card at one of the self-service kiosks.

CPW policies

CPW prohibits disorderly conduct, which is defined as behavior that:
‍
• is inherently or potentially unsafe to other persons, or to their personal property,

• and/or any behavior that disrupts the peace or interferes with the normal operation of the Institute orInstitute-sponsored activities.

This includes making unreasonable noise, damaging property, and obstructing pedestrian or vehicle traffic.

Our expectation is that you will not engage in behavior that endangers your physical and mental health, safety, welfare, or that of others. CPW prohibits reckless endangerment or physical and/or emotional abuse of others or oneself.

CPW is a substance-free weekend and participants are prohibited from partaking in substance use for the entirety of CPW.

Should a student fail to abide by these policies, MIT Admissions reserves the right to send you home and/or rescind your offer of admission.

cpw travel grant

Eligible students have already been sent a travel grant invitation. Instructions on how to book your travel using the grant can be found on your CPW portal.

If you believe you qualify for a travel grant and did not receive one, please email your financial aid offer to us at flyin@mit.edu, and we will review your information. If you have not applied for financial aid, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible! Students who receive aid will automatically be granted a travel grant. Invites will be sent on a rolling basis to eligible students until the CPW registration deadline on Wednesday, March 26.
